150. - (1) There shall be an officer of this House, called the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, who shall be appointed by the House.

(2) The principal duties of the Commissioner shall be-

(a) to maintain the Register of Members’ Interests and any other registers of interest established by the House, and to make such arrangements for the compilation, maintenance and accessibility of those registers as are approved by the Committee on Standards and Privileges or an appropriate sub-committee thereof;

(b) to provide advice confidentially to Members and other persons or bodies subject to registration on matters relating to the registration of individual interests;

(c) to advise the Committee on Standards and Privileges, its sub-committees and individual Members on the interpretation of any code of conduct to which the House has agreed and on questions of propriety;

(d) to monitor the operation of such code and registers, and to make recommendations thereon to the Committee on Standards and Privileges or an appropriate sub-committee thereof; and

(e) to receive and, if he thinks fit, investigate specific complaints from Members and from members of the public in respect of-

(i) the registration or declaration of interests, or

(ii) other aspects of the propriety of a Member’s conduct, and to report to the Committee on Standards and Privileges or to an appropriate sub-committee thereof.

(3) The Commissioner may be dismissed by resolution of the House.

150. - (1) Vi sarà un officer di questa Camera, denominato Commissario Parlamentare per gli Standard che sarà nominato dalla Camera.

(2) I compiti principali del Commissario saranno

(a) mantenere il Registro degli Interessi dei Membri e qualunque altro registro di interesse istituito dalla Camera, ed emanare le misure per la compilazione, tenuta ed accessibilità di quei registri come approvate dalla Commissione sugli Standard e le Prerogative o da una sua apposita sottocommissione;

(b) fornire pareri riservati a Membri ed altre persone o enti soggetti alla registrazione su questioni relative alla registrazione di interessi personali;

(c) esprimere pareri alla Commissione sugli Standard e le Prerogative, alle sue sottocommissioni e a singoli Membri sull’interpretazione del codice di condotta approvato dalla Camera e su questioni di correttezza;

(d) controllare la funzionalità di tale codice e registri, e formulare le relative raccomandazioni alla Commissione sugli Standard e le Prerogative o ad una sua apposita sottocommissione; e

(e) ricevere e, se lo ritenga opportuno, indagare su specifici reclami dei Membri e del pubblico riguardo a

(i) la registrazione o dichiarazione di interessi, o

(ii) altri aspetti della correttezza della condotta di un Membro, e riferire alla Commissione sugli Standard e le Prerogative o ad una sua apposita sottocommissione.

(3) Il Commissario può essere destituito per decisione della Camera.
