148. - (1) There shall be a select committee to be called the Committee of Public Accounts for the examination of the accounts showing the appropriation of the sums granted by Parliament to meet the public expenditure, and of such other accounts laid before Parliament as the committee may think fit, to consist of not more than sixteen Members, of whom four shall be a quorum. The committee shall have power to send for persons, papers and records, to report from time to time, and to adjourn from place to place.

(2) Unless the House otherwise orders, each Member nominated to the committee shall continue to be a member of it for the remainder of the Parliament.

(3) The committee shall have power to communicate to any committee appointed under Standing Order No. 152 (Select committees related to government departments) and to the European Scrutiny Committee such evidence as it may have received from the National Audit Office (having been agreed between that Office and the government department or departments concerned) but which has not been reported to the House.

(4) The Committee shall have power to meet concurrently with the European Scrutiny Committee, or any Sub-Committee thereof, for the purposes of deliberating or taking evidence.

148. - (1) Sarà costituita una select committee, denominata Commissione dei Conti Pubblici, per l’esame dei rendiconti (nota 41) relativi agli stanziamenti di somme assegnati dal Parlamento per finanziare la spesa pubblica, e degli altri rendiconti presentati al Parlamento secondo quanto la commissione possa ritenere opportuno, composta da non più di sedici Membri, il cui numero legale sarà di quattro membri. La commissione avrà potere di convocare persone e richiedere materiali e documenti, di riferire periodicamente, e di aggiornarsi da un luogo all’altro.

(2) A meno che la Camera non disponga diversamente, ciascun Membro nominato nella commissione continuerà ad esserne membro fino al termine della legislatura.

(3) La commissione avrà potere di trasmettere a qualunque commissione costituita ai sensi dello Standing Order n. 152 (Select committee riferite a dipartimenti del Governo) e alla Commissione di controllo per gli affari europei la documentazione che possa aver ricevuto dal National Audit Office (che sia stata concordata fra tale Ufficio ed il competente dipartimento o dipartimenti del Governo) ma che non sia stata oggetto di relazione alla Camera.

(4) La Commissione avrà potere di riunirsi congiuntamente alla Commissione di controllo per gli affari europei, o a qualunque sua sottocommissione, ai fini di deliberare o procedere ad audizioni.
