20. - (1) On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays the time for private business shall end not later than a quarter to three o’clock and business entered upon and not disposed of at that hour shall be deferred to such time as the Chairman of Ways and Means may appoint. Business not reached shall stand over to the next sitting, or in the case of opposed business until the next sitting other than a Friday.

(2) During the time of private business, opposed business shall not be proceeded with but shall be deferred to such time, other than a Friday, as the Chairman of Ways and Means may appoint.

(3) Opposed business shall include any proceedings on a private bill or a confirming bill which have been deferred under paragraph (2) of this order, so long as a notice of an amendment stands upon the order paper in the form of a notice of motion (other than a notice of motion in the name of the Chairman of Ways and Means) on second reading, consideration or third reading of such bill:

Provided that no such notice of motion shall stand on the order paper for more than seven days unless renewed.

(4) No opposed business shall be taken on a Friday.

(5) Business deferred under paragraphs (1) and (2) of this order shall be considered at the time of private business on the day appointed unless the Chairman of Ways and Means directs that such business shall be set down for seven o’clock on any specified Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, and business so set down (including any motion contingent directly or otherwise upon any item of such business) shall be taken in such order as the Chairman of Ways and Means may determine:

Provided that business so set down shall be distributed as nearly as may be proportionately between the sittings on which government business has precedence and other sittings.

(6) On any day specified under paragraph (5) of this order at seven o’clock or as soon thereafter as any motion for the adjournment of the House under Standing Order No. 24 (Adjournment on specific and important matter that should have urgent consideration) has been disposed of, the business set down by direction of the Chairman of Ways and Means shall be entered upon and may be proceeded with subject to the provisions of Standing Order No. 9 (Sittings of the House).

20. - (1) Nei giorni di Lunedì, Martedì, Mercoledì e Giovedì, il tempo per l’attività di interesse privato non si protrarrà oltre le 14.45 e l’attività avviata ma su cui non si sia deliberato entro quell’ora sarà rinviata alla data che il Chairman of Ways and Means potrà stabilire. L’attività non raggiunta nell’esame sarà rinviata alla seduta successiva o, nel caso di attività su cui vi sia opposizione, fino alla seduta successiva diversa da un Venerdì.

(2) Durante il tempo dell’attività di interesse privato non sarà presa in esame l’attività su cui vi sia opposizione ma sarà rinviata alla data, diversa da un Venerdì, che il Chairman of Ways and Means potrà stabilire.

(3) L’attività su cui vi sia opposizione comprenderà i lavori su di un progetto di legge di interesse privato o su di un progetto di legge di conferma di un decreto rinviati ai sensi del paragrafo (2) del presente order, purché vi sia all’ordine del giorno un preavviso di emendamento nella forma di un preavviso di mozione (diverso da un preavviso di mozione a nome del Chairman of Ways and Means) nella fase della seconda lettura, della relazione o della terza lettura di tale progetto:

A condizione che nessun preavviso di mozione di tal genere resterà all’ordine del giorno per più di sette giorni se non rinnovato.

(4) Nessuna attività su cui vi sia opposizione verrà esaminata in un Venerdì.

(5) L’attività rinviata ai sensi dei paragrafi (1) e (2) del presente order sarà esaminata nel tempo dell’attività di interesse privato del giorno stabilito, a meno che il Chairman of Ways and Means non disponga che tale attività debba essere prevista per le 19.00 di uno specifico Lunedì, Martedì, Mercoledì o Giovedì e l’attività così prevista (compresa qualunque mozione che incida direttamente o in altro modo su qualunque aspetto di tale attività) sarà esaminata nell’ordine che il Chairman of Ways and Means potrà determinare:

A condizione che l’attività così prevista sarà distribuita in maniera quanto più possibile proporzionata fra le sedute in cui ha la precedenza l’attività di interesse del Governo e le altre sedute.

(6) In qualunque giorno specificato ai sensi del paragrafo (5) del presente order, alle 19.00 o immediatamente dopo che si sia deliberato su di una mozione per l’aggiornamento della Camera ai sensi dello Standing Order n. 24 (Aggiornamento su specifica ed importante questione da esaminare con urgenza), l’attività prevista secondo quanto disposto dal Chairman of Ways and Means sarà avviata e potrà essere continuata, fatte salve le disposizioni dello Standing Order n. 9 (Sedute della Camera).
